Fees
Your initial consultation is free. If we can act for you, then we will work on ‘no win, no fee’ terms. This means you pay us nothing if you lose. If you win, our costs are usually recovered from your opponent.
Most other injury lawyers charge their clients success fees. Many also force clients top up the legal costs at the end of the claim. This means that the lawyers take a big slice of the compensation awarded to their own clients. In the majority of cases, we do not charge success fees. We also do not ask clients to top up any shortfall in our costs. Our clients therefore get to keep all their compensation. In clinical negligence claims, and instances where costs are fixed by court rules, we may charge a success fee. You will be advised about this at the outset.
Where required we will arrange for you to take out a policy of legal expense cover. This protects you from having to pay anything towards your opponent’s costs. It also helps to fund the expenses for things needed to bring your claim, like expert and court fees. The cost of the policy is only payable by you if you win.
In criminal injuries claims our costs are set either as a proportion of your award or according to the time that we spend. We will discuss this with you.
