First anniversary of Richard Edwards & Co hits the news

In the article leading catastrophic and serious injury lawyer, Richard Edwards, looked back on the firm’s first year achievements:

“We have recovered damages totalling £8.75 million for our clients” said Richard.

“In addition, we have been instructed in 8 new catastrophic injury claims and 10 serious injury claims. On top of this we have been entrusted with referrals from the judiciary, leading members at the personal injury bar, charities, the police and from existing clients. This provides a solid base upon which to build going forward.”

Richard also spoke about the challenge of raising awareness of his new firm:

“I have had to start from scratch and with a limited budget. I have been fortunate enough to be invited to speak at a number of events by leading bodies in the sector, including the Expert Witness Institute, the newly established Pathway Expert Chambers and the Expert Witness Directory all of which has helped to build awareness of my firm.”

Aside from this Richard also spoke about the importance of partnerships with insurers:

“Crucial to our offering to clients is having a relationship with a trusted legal expense provider. Early in the year we put a lot of effort into establishing a partnership with Markel for the benefit of all our clients. It was pleasing to see this work come off”.

Speaking of future plans Richard continued:

“Our clients with catastrophic and serious personal injury claims benefit from fair funding models, with no success fees being charged. They are also not asked to top up any shortfall in costs recovery, meaning that they get to keep all of their compensation. Going ahead, we will look to build upon this as marking us out as distinct from other specialists in the serious and catastrophic injury field.”
